The continuation of the epic saga based on Frank Miller's new graphic novel Xerxes, told in the stunning visual style of the hit series 300, moves to a new battlefield - the sea, where Greek general Themistocles, seeking to unify all of Greece, leads a battle that will turn the tide of the war. In 300: Rise of an Empire, Themistocles faces a massive invasion by a Persian army led by the godlike Xerxes and Artemisia, the vengeful commander of the Persian fleet.

This action-adventure film stars Sullivan Stapleton (Gangster Squad) as Themistocles and Eva Green (Dark Shadows, Casino Royale) as Artemesia. Lena Headey reprises her leading role from 300 as the Spartan Queen Gorgo. Hans Matheson (Clash of the Titans) reprises the role of Aeschylus and Rodrigo Santoro reprises his role as the Persian King Xerxes.
