Description
Learn to draw and paint and share your artistic creations on YouTube with Art Academy: Atelier exclusively on Wii U! Anyone can become an artist thanks to a wide variety of materials and tools, and intuitive lessons that teach you how to draw and paint.
Art Academy: Atelier turns your Wii U GamePad into a canvas full of possibilities. The latest installment in the popular educational software series features 30 comprehensive lessons led by a friendly master named Vince, who provides insight into concepts, theory and technique. Individual works can now be created using a variety of materials and tools, including charcoal for the first time. Users can import and export images using an SD card, share their works via Miiverse, display them in a virtual in-game gallery and, in another first for the series, upload time-lapse videos of the entire creation process to YouTube.
The Art Academy series teaches players touch-screen drawing and painting techniques that can then be applied to everyday drawing - follow simple steps to create breathtaking works of art you never thought you could create. Following on from the release of the Wii U downloadable software Art Academy: SketchPad - which gave aspiring artists a taste of what's to come - this new title offers a complete drawing and painting package, with the stylus once again representing the drawing material or tool and the Wii U GamePad serving as the canvas. With the large touch screen and the ability to zoom in on individual parts, you can create highly detailed works of art. Get inspired by the creations of other Wii U users, which can be viewed in the Art Academy: SketchPad community on Miiverse.
Art Academy: Atelier offers a fun interactive learning course called Lessons Mode, where you follow step-by-step lessons to learn drawing and painting techniques. These techniques, taught by master Vince, are divided into groups called Beginner, Advanced and Tools (a new category added to Art Academy: Atelier), and the difficulty of the lessons in each category increases as you progress. During the lessons, you will understand the workings of each technique and learn more about the masters of the art. Of course, you can also use the software to freely draw or paint using a wide variety of tools and materials.
Whether you're creating a fun sketch, a work in progress, or a final masterpiece, you can showcase your creative process by uploading a time-lapse video of your creation to YouTube. Regardless of the length (one, two, or five minutes), the video will show the entire process of drawing from the first stroke to the last. You can also save your creations to an SD card and view them on your computer, or display them in a virtual Gallery. The Gallery also features a Family Wall, where everyone in your household using the same Wii U can contribute their work to a shared canvas.
You can also share your creations via Miiverse, Nintendo's online service that brings together communities of users with shared interests from around the world. User creations are categorized by predefined tags for easy browsing and can be viewed within the software itself. They can also be saved directly to the software or to an SD card for later use, such as as a reference for your own creations.
