Description
In Brink, we will take you to the floating city of Ark, explained Edward, the game's producer, the last bastion of humanity. The year is 2035, the earth has been hit by a huge flood and only Ark has survived. As is often the case in similar scenarios, two factions have been formed and are fighting for supremacy – the Police Force and the Resistance. Before Edward even started playing the missions, he showed off their smart button in a special level, the so-called SMART button (or Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain). It is used to move around the game world more easily, which will, it must be added, be fragmented and you will be climbing or jumping somewhere every now and then. It works in such a way that when you look somewhere, for example, to the other side of a room with a wall in the middle, you will actually just have to press the SMART button and your character will get over the obstacle on its own. It will work the same way if you want to climb somewhere. Every location that would be reachable in reality will be reachable in Brink, Edward boasted. Just like in Quake Wars, in Brink your tasks will dynamically change depending on where you are, what is happening and what class you are playing as. Whenever Edward wanted, he opened the circular menu, chose one of the tasks there, immediately looked at how many points he would get for it and the game then led him to the final destination. Once he even had to run up to a crane with a huge magnet, which he used to transport a tank over the abyss so that his colleagues could use it. Brink will not be a Team Deathmatch. When successfully completing tasks, you and your team will constantly move forward, just like in single-player games. All the more important tasks (e.g. detonating a bomb in a building, opening a blocked gate, etc.) will require some specialization and if no one on your team plays for the incriminated class, the game will force you to change to that class, Edward pointed out. Simply put, you get five times more EXP points for that task than for any other. And that's a solid attraction.
