The family strategy game Carcassonne is a tactical board game - a game about castles, cities and knights, which won the world's most prestigious gaming award - Spiel des Jahres - in 2001.

Carcassonne is a city in the south of France, famous for its magnificent castle and massive fortifications. Players create a landscape with towns, meadows and monasteries on which they can place their figures.
