He can't write, he can't breathe, he can't remember the meaning of life. He arrives to teach at a small town college and soon becomes involved with two women. A lonely professor, Rita (Parker Posey), expects him to save her from an unhappy marriage. His student, Jill (Emma Stone), is charmed and becomes his closest friend.
