The biggest change is the steering wheel design, which is now a compromise between the older G27 and GT.
From the G27, the steering wheel brought leather upholstery and a metal center, the option of connecting a 6th-speed gear lever (H design) and a panel with 3 pedals (clutch, brake, gas).
From the GT series, you will find several buttons here, which are easily distinguishable from each other thanks to their labels, as well as several important Sony symbols (Share, Option, four circles, cross, triangle and square).
The classic four-way D-PAD and the red "jog dial" wheel are also included (you can use them to smoothly scroll through the menu or change the car's characteristics while driving - tuning in up to 24 steps)
There are also four L1/L2/R1/R2 buttons, which this time are located only on the front panel of the steering wheel.
A big new feature is the rev counter, which is located above the PlayStation logo in the middle of the steering wheel. In addition to displaying the revs, it also serves as a reminder when it is most appropriate to shift gears.
Force Feedback technology is now powered by two motors. The steering wheel will once again offer adjustable rotation of up to 900 degrees, which will be used by both F1 drivers and truckers in the truck simulator.
Due to player requests, the 6th-speed gear lever is no longer included as standard. However, it can be purchased separately. The reason is that racing cars today have gearshift paddles under the steering wheel, and a classic gear lever would be slow. If you are a fan of 6th-speed gear shifting, you will be able to purchase it separately.
