Mafia: The Old Country – A trip to Italy with Czech dubbing
Mafia: The Old Country takes you on a trip to old Italy - among vineyards, narrow streets and dramatic stories that take place against the backdrop of beautiful graphics and honest Czech dubbing. The game is built on story and atmosphere from the beginning, even if the plot itself is rather cliché and the characters seem a bit empty, so it is difficult to form a relationship with them. In addition, the stealth passages are more like routine housework and the artificial intelligence behaves so stupidly that it does not surprise you with anything.
Fortunately, this is balanced by really fun and well-designed shootouts that give the game pace and juice, and the music and environment that draw you into the Italian atmosphere like from an old movie. In the later chapters, the game picks up momentum and manages to win over the player, even if the technical side is sometimes annoying.
What is it like? How does the ending feel and why it's worth trying the game despite its flaws, you can find out in our full review - play it and form your own opinion.
