The 2017 edition of the popular Pro Evolution Soccer game once again offers interesting improvements aimed at making the game more realistic and fun. The Real Touch first touch system is introduced, the goalkeepers' movement repertoire is the widest in the series' history, and adaptive artificial intelligence promises more challenging offline matches.

Thanks to Konami's premium partnership with FC Barcelona, fans of the club can look forward to a model of the Camp Nou stadium, the club's players faithfully captured using 3D photography technology, or the option to choose the characteristic "Tiky-Taka" playing style.

Game changes:

First Touch - In football, the best players are distinguished from others by the way they handle the ball. PES 2017 therefore improves the "Real Touch" first touch system, which is based on the player's attributes and takes into account improved ball physics. Different players handle the ball in different ways, which affects the pace of the game. In addition, the player has better control over the way they handle it, and depending on the situation, he can decide whether to handle the ball himself or immediately pass it on to the next player.

Catching - Goalkeepers have been significantly improved with new movements and animations. They react to shots in a flash, including block shots. Goalkeepers react better to various game situations, including kicking the ball away when it is near their feet, shooting into the opposing movement, and pushing the ball out with their fingertips.

Advanced Instructions - Tactics that significantly affect the way a team plays, such as "Tiki-taka", contribute to the unique concept of football played by individual teams and can now be set using "Advanced Instructions".

Team Focus - The PES series is known for its extensive control over team play, and with "Total Team Control" players gain additional options to instantly change the course of a match. Players can instantly switch their playstyle to attack or defend, depending on whether they want to defend the result or try to score a goal.

Adaptive AI - For the first time in a football game, the AI will adapt to the player's play and tactics. Are you giving all the balls to your star player? The opposition will try to defend and double him. The AI will also change its attacking efforts, so if you easily block crosses into the box, it will try to penetrate forward with short passes. Player and team behavior has always been central to the Pro Evolution Soccer series, and the revolutionary "Adaptive AI" system in PES 2017 will change the game once and for all.

Authentic Graphics - Thanks to the Fox Engine, the 2017 edition has seen a significant improvement in the graphics side. There are twice the number of light sources, improved spectator models and reworked pitch surface textures, making everything look more realistic. It's easier to see the shadows of players during matches in daylight, and you'll notice details like the players' dehcu in winter or the falling drops from the net when the ball hits it in the rain. Nothing has been improved, from the player models to the lighting to the stadiums.

Natural Player Movement - Hundreds of new animations contribute to more natural character movement. Player interactions (collision) have also been improved, reflecting their movement and taking into account their constitution. Player stability during physical interaction is taken into account by two new attributes.

Referees - better judge fouls based on actual player interaction. Minor fouls will be called and the advantage rule will be applied more judiciously, including the ability to caution a player after the action.

Changes in game modes

MyClub

Scout - Scouts are now available through the auction, giving you a better chance of getting the star player you want. It's now easier to get a contract with players level 75 and below.

Analysis - With match analysis, you can now more easily identify your online opponent's preferred playstyle and adjust your team instructions accordingly.
Tutorial - new tutorials are available to introduce newcomers to the mode when starting MyClub.

Master League

Negotiation - the transfer system has undergone noticeable changes, with separate budgets for transfers and player salaries.

Team Role - This addition, introduced in 2016, has grown and now offers 22 team roles instead of the original 10.

Player Growth - the player development system has been improved and players not only gain new abilities, but also skills. These can also be acquired during loan spells. The training system has also been improved.

Real Life Kick Off Times - matches under natural/artificial lighting are better reflected throughout the season, taking into account real match times.
