Circles takes place thirteen years after the events of the previous installment. The story of a murderous film is considered just a horror story, but student Julia is disturbed by the change in behavior of her boyfriend Holt, who allegedly saw the video. Despite his warnings, the curious girl looks at him.

The incomprehensible montage of seemingly unrelated scenes culminates in a phone call in which an unknown voice tells her that she will die in exactly one week. Since various terrifying events begin to accompany her literally at every turn, Julia does not take the warning lightly.

She also soon realizes that her only hope of survival may lie in understanding the video in which Samara, the girl from the well, sent a coded message to the world. The search for Samara's terrifying fate takes Julia on a journey where her life is in the same danger as if she had waited patiently for death at home.
