The game's story follows on from the third installment and revolves around the old Saints. The status of these purple gangsters will be at the highest possible level - they will be the leaders of the free world, as the head of the Saints has been elected President of the United States, making everything even crazier than it was in the third installment.

As a twist, we are promised a catastrophic invasion by aliens who teleport the Saints into a bizarre simulation of Steelport. There, superhero abilities are commonplace and your goal will be to escape this crazy simulation.
