The sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne in a never-ending fight against crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman takes to the streets of Gotham to eradicate organized crime once and for all.

The resulting triumvirate is very effective. But soon they all become prey in the crazy game of the criminal genius known as the Joker, who unleashes real anarchy in Gotham and pushes Batman close to crossing the thin line between hero and villain. Heath Ledger as the crime lord Joker and Aaron Eckhart as Dent. Maggie Gyllenhaal will be seen as Rachel Dawes. Familiar faces from Batman Begins also return.
