The story of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is not connected to the stories of the previous games. It takes place on the same continent, but in a different province - Cyrodiil. This area is not as arid as Morrowind, there are forests, mountains, swamps and in the west there is even access to the ocean. As for the races, there are all the ones you know from the original series. The game has a drastic gradient. You definitely won't have to worry about boredom. In terms of graphics, the game is absolutely amazing, photo-realistic. The creators worked on the graphics technology for a whole year. Like the previous games, Oblivion has a first-person perspective by default. But it also allows you to switch to a third-person perspective. In terms of the size of the game world, Elder Scrolls IV is larger than Morrowind. The design of the compass and map interface has been redesigned so that you don't have to fumble for a long time while searching for an experience. The boring and repetitive travel that you could experience in Morrowind is eliminated in Oblivion. The experience-gaining system has also been modified. It remains essentially the same, but is a bit more adaptable to your requirements (e.g. if after playing for a while you decide to take a slightly different direction with your hero's development than before). The combat system has also seen some changes. Statistics still play an important role here, but they are built more meaningfully. The AI system has been completely rewritten. The world that Oblivion opens up to you is truly full of life. NPCs have a 24/7 schedule. Another highlighted feature is the diversity of playing for five different factions that you can join. Those with a more negative mindset can become an assassin in the Dark Brotherhood, while someone else will join the mages' guild, where they must learn spells from all cities (by the way, houses can be bought there) and only then will they gain access to the Arcane University, before they can start casting spells. The player can also become a vampire (and then continue missions after drinking blood) or possess items that can resurrect the dead and use them as mindless bodyguards.
