The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim takes you to the vast realm of Tamriel, which is now in danger. The High King of Skyrim has been murdered. The Alliance wants to claim the throne for themselves. In the midst of this conflict, a far more dangerous, ancient evil is awakened. Dragons, long lost in the Elder Scrolls world, have returned to Tamriel.

Dawnguard is the first major expansion for Skyrim, where you will face the return of the vampire Lord Harkon to the living. If you join Harkon, which the game allows you to do, you will try to eclipse the sun and bring an age of darkness to the world. Otherwise, you will join the Dawnguard organization, which specializes in hunting vampires.

Hearthfire - The second expansion allows you to buy land and establish your own homestead.
