The hero of the film is the boy Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a human cub raised in the jungle by a pack of wolves. However, the menacing tiger Shere Khan, who bears the scars caused by man, arrives in the jungle. Shere Khan wants to destroy everything he perceives as a threat, and Mowgli feels that he is no longer welcome in the jungle. So he leaves his home and sets off on an adventurous journey full of knowledge. He is accompanied by his strict mentor, the panther Bagheera, and the cheerful bear Baloo. On his way through the jungle, Mowgli meets animals who do not always have good intentions towards him. These include the python Kaa, whose seductive voice and piercing gaze hypnotize the human cub, and the vain King Louis, who tries to persuade Mowgli to reveal the secret of the beautiful but deadly Red Flower: fire.
