Ticket to Ride puts players in the role of railroad builders in North America - the more extensive the train network they build, the closer they get to victory. Additional points can be earned for connecting important cities or for the longest continuous track. All of this is built on simple rules that directly encourage players to compete with their opponents.

And that is where the extraordinary beauty of this game is based - there is nothing more enjoyable than building tracks at the last minute in such a way that you take over your opponent's longest path and at the same time prevent him from extending it further.
