For the first time in the Rainbow Six series, players will face off in a siege, an entirely new type of attack. Enemies now have the ability to transform the environment into fortresses: they can lay traps, fortify themselves, and create defensive systems to hinder Rainbow teams' progress.
To meet this challenge, players are given a level of freedom that surpasses any previous Rainbow Six game. With a combination of tactical maps, surveillance drones, and a rappel system, Rainbow teams have more options than ever before to plan, attack, and resolve any situation.
Counter-Terrorism Unit:
Counter-terrorism agents are trained to handle extreme situations like hostage rescues with surgical precision. As close-quarters combat specialists, their training focuses on interiors. Operating in tight formations, they are experts in close combat, demolitions, and coordinated attacks. Rainbow Six Siege features agents drawn from five of the world's most notorious counter-terrorism units: the British SAS, the American SWAT, the French GIGN, the German GSG9, and the Russian SPETSNAZ.
Each of these agents is an expert in their own specialty within Siege operations. Each has their own unique personality and specialization. Some are more focused on offense, while others are more focused on defense. You can combine them within your team to unlock new team strategies.

You can break down walls to create new firing positions, and you can even break through ceilings and floors to gain new access routes.
