Description
The Velorex, with its tubular frame covered in leatherette, is the only homologated vehicle with a canvas body in the world. It was originally produced in small series by the Stránský brothers, but after nationalization it began to be produced in large quantities by the Solnice cycling team as a vehicle for the disabled.
This unique three-wheeler, equipped with a 350 cm3 engine, became famous for its presence in the cult feature film Vrchní, prchni! with Josef Abraham and even appeared in the British motoring show Top Gear. Among the people, it has acquired many interesting nicknames - hadrák, hadraplán, hadrolet, fleeing tent or montgomerák.
Approximately 15,300 units of this tricycle were produced. It was succeeded by a less successful four-wheeled version, of which only 1,380 were produced.
