Akiba's Beat is a modern satire on the classic Japanese RPG.

The game takes place in a life-like part of Tokyo, and players control a group of characters led by the main protagonist Asahi Tachibana, as they attempt to cleanse the city of anything that is not in line with reality. The game has two main aspects: the first, where players wander the streets and interact with the bizarre inhabitants of Akihabara.

They ask questions that are connected to the mystery and thus gain access to dungeons that are filled with monsters called disillusions. These battles are the second aspect of the game. Touch enemies on the map and you will be transported into real-time battles that will test the reflexes and skills of the players.

Interact with uniquely portrayed characters in the hopes of learning more about the source of many changes in the city.
