Description
Lions are the only felines whose males have a mane that distinguishes them significantly from the females. The larger the lion's mane, the more frightening the intruders from whom the lion protects its territory. Lions are also the only ones that hunt together in a pride - a task that is mostly left to lionesses. Because lionesses are not as fast compared to cheetahs, they use their strength in a pride. They sneak up from different directions, surround their prey and take advantage of the moment of surprise. This allows them to bring down large ungulates such as zebras and wildebeests, as well as buffaloes and weak elephants. It takes five years for a male lion's mane to fully develop. Dimensions: 10.7 x 6.6 x 4.6 cm. Not suitable for children under 3 years. Recommended age: 3-8
