In past sets, the first two revealed leaders came from the two-player starter deck. However, starting with Jump to Lightspeed and for each set onwards , the two-player starter deck will no longer be part of the product line. Instead, this set introduces a new type of product: Spotlight Decks!
Spotlight Decks are pre-built decks that contain a mix of cards from multiple sets, with cards from the new set making up the majority of the deck. Each Spotlight Deck contains five special rarities that are unique to that product, one of which is a leader card. Two Spotlight Decks come with each set, meaning there are ten special rarities in total, the exact same number as in previous two-player Starter Sets.
Our Spotlight Deck Jump to Lightspeed features Han Solo (Jump to Lightspeed, 17) as your leader. As with his other iterations in Star Wars: Unlimited, Han comes to the new set with an adaptable playstyle that encourages you to think on the fly. His leadership ability forces you to check the top card of your deck and then make an empowered attack with one of your units if those two cards have different odd-costs. Naturally, this means that Han’s entire deck is filled with odd-cost cards to maximize his effectiveness. Similar to Boba Fett’s leader, you can choose to deploy Han as a pilot upgrade, and when you do, you can immediately prepare a resource for any friendly unit or odd-cost upgrade. If you play your cards right, you can potentially prepare all of your resources at once, opening up a lot of options and keeping your opponents guessing.
Speaking of options, a Han Solo pre-built deck wouldn't be complete without the Millennium Falcon (Jump to Lightspeed, 249). This iconic ship allows you to attach additional pilot upgrades to it (and you get a power boost for each one), meaning you could have Han Solo pilot the ship alongside his trusty First Officer Chewbacca (Jump to Lightspeed, 103) and turn it into an absolute powerhouse. Your opponent will have a hard time dealing with the ship when it has 11 strength, 11 HP, and can't be removed from play by enemy card abilities!
Of course, the Millennium Falcon isn't the only ace up Han Solo's sleeve. Cards like Never Tell Me the Odds (Jump to Lightspeed, 208) and Death Space Skirmisher (Jump to Lightspeed, 217) will help you deal with enemy units, while cards like Tandem Assault (Jump to Lightspeed, 124) will allow you to attack with two units at once. With careful planning and a little luck, Han's deck can clear the way and let you sail your way to victory!
