Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS is about playing Super Mario levels anytime, anywhere.

Right from the start, players are greeted by 100 levels specially designed by Nintendo, which feature extra challenges, such as collecting all the coins or defeating all the enemies before the player reaches the goal. By completing these extra challenges, players will earn medals.

Just like the Wii U version of Super Mario Maker, this title lets players freely create their own Super Mario levels. There's no need to be afraid of the level designer's path. Mashiko and Yamamura will guide players through a set of interactive tutorials to help them gain the confidence they need!

While the Wii U version of the game was about creating a massive global community, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS is about creating small groups with friends in your area. Instead of sharing levels online, local creations are shared locally and via StreetPass.

You can also share incomplete levels and team up with other players to complete them. These levels will be marked with a special icon showing your collaboration.

You can also play levels created in the Wii U version of the game online. You won't be able to search by level ID, but you will be able to enjoy the 100 Mario Challenge mode and recommended levels. So while not all levels created in the Wii U version of the game will be available, there's still plenty of great community content to be found!
