Beneath the surface of each region lie vast dungeons filled with terrifying demons, treasures, and puzzles designed to test even the bravest of heroes. Players can swing their swords and adjust the angle of their slashes using intuitive motion controls that match their movements, or, for the first time ever, take advantage of the newly added classic button controls.

As a recent graduate of Skyloft Knight Academy, Link embarks on a journey to rescue his childhood friend Zelda from the self-proclaimed demon lord Ghirahim. He is accompanied by Fi, the spirit of the Goddess Sword, as his guide and companion. Along the way, you will also encounter Link's rival Groos and a mysterious warrior named Impa. Link can soar into the clouds on his trusty Loftwing and visit islands on the horizon, then return to the mythical surface to wander through forests, deserts, volcanoes, and more.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD also features various improvements to the quality of the gameplay experience, including increased frame rates, auto-saving, as well as improvements to player guides and overall guidance throughout the adventure.
