Description
A trebuchet is a large siege engine. It can be considered a kind of catapult, but limited by its large size and fixed position. It uses the principle of leverage and projectiles with a mass much less than the mass of the counterweight are therefore fired at a much greater speed than its fall. It was used in sieges and was the largest indirect fire weapon available to medieval armies.
