Frodo knows his task; his mind is set. He is the bearer of the ring; the guardian of the One, and if he does not find the way, no one will. The road to Mordor lies before him, and he alone will go forth, for himself, for the Ring, and for all men.

Frodo Baggins stands hundreds of miles from the Shire on the shore, gazing westward. His thoughts turned inward, Frodo does not hear the sounds of battle among the trees on the slopes behind him, where his friends are fighting to keep him from escaping the relentless Uruk-hai. Only now, in the heavy silence of this strange place, so far from home, does he understand how truly alone he is.

FRODO BAGGIE, THE RING-BEARER

Yet as we follow his journey, we learn of his true power and the potential for greatness within the smallest of creatures.
