Forged from iron by the slaves of Sauron™, the Black Gate, a thing of stark and rigid design, spanned the narrow gap between the mountains that connected Mordor™.

Only in this way could entry into Mordor™ be gained, for those seeking to cross the threshold would travel hundreds of miles east or south. The Great Gate was an impenetrable barrier, opened only by the command of the Gatekeeper and the strength of a team of mountain trolls, the only ones strong enough to move the blockade.
