GAME SYSTEM
Enjoy a more realistic football experience in FIFA 23 thanks to gameplay innovations such as risk/reward shooting, revised free kick, penalty and corner mechanics, and greater football variety:

Power Shots: New shooting mechanics, with an emphasis on player skill and a risk/reward aspect, bring the hardest and most impressive shots to the game. Create space out of reach of defenders, choose your spot, and activate Power Shot to send a hard shot into the opponent's goal - and maybe it will turn into a stunning goal.
Set-pieces rework: Set-pieces have been reworked to give you more control over free kicks, penalties and corners. You can choose where the ball comes into contact, which will affect its direction, trajectory, spin and other characteristics. Plus, camera positions have been adjusted for corner kicks to better reflect the tension of taking these set-pieces.
On-pitch physics: Improved physics in FIFA 23 deliver a range of more natural and realistic on-pitch interactions:
Net Interaction Physics: New goal net physics react to player movement and their individual limbs, creating more natural interactions as a player runs, slides, or falls into the goal.
Player Awareness: A new collision prediction system improves player awareness on the pitch, so players will move intelligently to avoid defensive tackles and collisions.
Football Diversity: New animations and mechanics bring more natural football diversity to FIFA 23, bringing the game closer to the real world.
Shooting: Try different bullet trajectories including ground, falling, jumping and fishtails.
Defending: Powerful kick-off slides, physical tackles, and even defensive tackles with your heel give you additional ways to protect your goal from opposing attackers.
Passing: New pass types expand your range of options for finding teammates. Pass with the outside of the foot, a spectacular heel pass, a volley pass, and with new kick-off animations.
Tactical Awareness for Game-Controlled Players: With tactical improvements, Game-Controlled opponents will be more responsive to the situation on the pitch, taking into account factors such as the score, time of match, and bench availability, all of which will be factored into their lineup and playstyle changes during the match.
