Mayan pyramid

This structure shows signs of highly sophisticated builders who used advanced mathematics during construction. This pyramid was used for religious ceremonies. The pyramid was built on a square plan, with 91 steps leading to the top, and on the days of the equinoxes, the setting sun casts a shadow, thanks to which the snake statues on the pyramid "come to life". The shadows of the snakes crawl vertically down the pyramid, creating the illusion of crawling snakes. One staircase leads to the top from each side, and each of them represents one of the cardinal points. There are a total of 365 steps on the pyramid, the same as the number of days in the Mayan solar calendar. Thanks to 3D scanning technology, archaeologists have discovered that there are two more pyramids inside the pyramid. The new rulers probably had a new pyramid built on top of the old one. This pyramid is included in the List of Seven Wonders of the World and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
