Forge

The medieval blacksmith was an important and respected craftsman. This has been the case since ancient times, when metalworking was a measure of the maturity of civilizations. The blacksmith was always accompanied by fire, a furnace, an anvil and the characteristic metallic clanging. In the countryside and in cities, his main activity was shoeing horses and repairing everything that was metal. The forge was one of the centers of social life, where many people gathered. It was common for the blacksmith to pull teeth and his wife to be a spice merchant. The blacksmith controlled fire and was also considered a black shaman, who is associated with the idea of the underworld and hell. Fire was worked with in the forge daily and blacksmithing was considered a mysterious craft, surrounded by many cults, myths and superstitions. In addition to healing, his competence also included rain magic, the summoning of rain.
